2009 Business Trip #1 - Singapore (Day 3)

I have had enough shopping so i decided to take a walk along the Singapore River. My starting point was Clarke Quay and i finished my walk at Esplanade because i could not stand the heat anymore...

2009 Business Trip #1 - Singapore (Day 2)

Today, more than 130 pax showed up at the commerce seminar, and the delegates from Dubai were all very happy with the turn out in times of economic crisis. As long as they are happy, i am happy too!
I always feel good after completing a presentation, and tonight i got a companion as well. My colleague, Carol, was having her holiday in Singapore, and tonight we went to have Black Pepper Crab @ Long Beach, Kaya Toast @ Ya Kun and Drinks @ Chijmes.
The crab turned out very huge in the end. As per advice by the waitress, we ordered a female crab because it is easier to handle her shell. We were told that the male ones have harder shell. I normally do not like crabs because it takes too much effort to finish a crab, but i think it's worthwhile to make so much effort for Black Pepper Crab.
Since Carol has not tasted Kaya Toast, so i brought her to Ya Kun. She likes the toast and milk tea a lot, and she even bought a bottle of Kaya Paste. I did not buy it because i knew the paste will get expired before i open the bottle. ha ha.

Well, a snapshot of me by Carol. By the way, the floral bag sitting next to me is my "newly hunt treasure" in Singapore, it's from GAP! I like it a lot, and most importantly, it is 50% off. :)

2009 Business Trip #01 - Singapore (Day 1)

After having 2 months staying in HK, I have to pick up business travel again. The first stop is Singapore.
I have not taken any shot on any flights since i have got my D90, so I have taken a number of pictures from my seat 30A this time. The flight is not very full, so i occupy both window and aisle seats which is great! The weather on ground is not good at all, but the sky is soooooo blue high above. Isn't it amazing?! I really like the blue sky on a sunny day.

I have been to my favourite store GAP again after my meeting, and I had a laksa and my favourite Milo Dinosaur @ Toast Box to complete my first day in Singapore.

Have to start preparing my presentation for tomorrow now!!

When i first heard "I'm Yours" in August 2008, I knew I would use this for my Kenting video. I did try looking for other songs, but in fact no songs are comparable to this one.
I am a bit upset that his concert was sold out, I have to blame myself for finding this out too late. I love Duffy too (I am not upset at all if I cannot go to her concert), but it seems that I am more into this guy. May be humans are attracted by the opposite sex.
Apart from "I'm Yours", I also like his old song "Life is Wonderful". I know from my heart I would also want to see Jason Mraz.

Classic Campbell's Soup Merchandise

My fridge is almost empty after another super busy week, so we decided to stock up our fridge and snack basket today. Apart from the food we need, we also purchased the classic Campbell's Soup Bowls today at Park n' Shop. They are just selling at HKD13.9 each, so they have become one of my affordable collections.

Baby Natalie

Natalie is an 8-month old baby girl. She is so lovable so everyone is so eager to play with her. She is good at stretching legs, and she will be a yoga master when she grows up! I am very obsessed with her chubby legs and feet, they are so cute!

The Love Guru

Ah lun and i always like funny films, this is always good to have some laughs to get destressed. Mike Myers has always been one of our favourite comedy actors. We finally watched this film tonight, with 2 scoops of ice cream.

Life Handbook

Inspirational reminders of life. I especially like the bolded sentences. How about you?

Health:

• Drink plenty of water
• Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
• Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants.
• Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm, and empathy.
• Play more games.
• Read more books than you did in 2008.
• Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day.
• Sleep for 7 hours.
• Take a 10-30 minutes walk every day. And while you walk, smile.

Personality:

Waiting itself is a torture

Waiting for the medical report is a torture. I am keeping my fingers crossed until i hear from the doctor.

It's difficult to walk on your own

Romance comes at small cost but high opportunity cost

It's been a busy week for ah lun, as he only have a few hours sleep every day this week. Not to mention he has to work on the evening /midnight of Valentines' Day. As a rough calculation, we meet only 10-15 minutes per day.
He is not a very romantic person since I know him, but sometimes he could do some sweet tricks to cheer me up.
He came back home at 6AM on Friday morning, 13 Feb, and put the chocolates on the cabinet where i accessorize myself every morning. What a surprise for me when i wake up at 7AM! He got the chocolates from a hotel chocolate supplier based in Ap Lei Chau, so they are really in good quaility! it's funny to hear the delivery of these chocolates - he stick the box on the oil tank of the motorbike, because he is afraid that the chocolate will be crushed in his backpack.
In the midnight of 13 Feb, so I am giving him a surprise at no cost. The risk is burning my flat by myself (so you see the opportunity cost is really high). I pulled out all the tea light candles to make something nice.
I hope he likes the little surprise for him when he is back home at 4AM (I am in deep sleep leaving the candles on). He slept for 4 hours and went off to work this morning at 8AM on 14 Feb. This creative guy has sent me another sentence using the same amount of candles. I am really touched.
Since I wake up at 11am, some of the tea light candles are gone. Luckily, the fire department did not come to our flat at last. wakakakak :P

I think this is romantic because we are thinking of each other even though we have no time to meet up. The good news is he is off on Sunday, and we can have a belated celebration and a good meal at a reasonable price, instead of those high cost lousy couple set dinner.

CATS in town......again!!!

One of my biggest regrets is that I did not see the CATS when they first came to Hong Kong. I was still in secondary school by that time, basically, I did not have the money for the tickets.
The good news is........... CATS is coming back to Hong Kong from 15 - 30 May. Ah Lun and I will be going, drop me a note if you are interested too.

元宵佳節

Since ah lun is leaving home for work at 9.30pm, we only had a brief celebration tonight. Glad that we had the sticky rice dumplings tonight, yummy!
According to the news, the moon is very close to the Earth tonight making the moon looking bigger than ever.
The Tsing Yi Promenade is full of people, and everyone is enjoying the last day of the Chinese New Year! I hope not many people see us making funny poses around the moon.
