House warming at Cynthia's place

Yeah, Cynthia has now become friends of Tsing Yi. She trained up her maid to cook 6 dishes and 1 soup for our group. All the dishes are nice. I hope my tin tin is good at cooking too. 

Aida has brought along Aprica stroller and Cynthia shared her new born carrier with me. This group of friends have been very generous in sharing bb gear with me. Much appreciated. 

Betty is the birthday girl but Darren and Arwin blew off the candles. 

Finally I have a chance to taste Miffy cake. But you know it's very heartbreaking to cut such a cute cake. 

Where to put the candle? I suggest to put two at the ears and now Miffy is enjoying ear spa with a burning incense stick, haha.

完美煲仔飯

經過幾次的嘗試，終於做出了完美的煲仔飯了！今次再用番瓦煲試試，再用少了水，真的很好味。阿倫都話好味，所以佢覺得唔夠飯。下次似乎要加到2杯半米喇！我本人則認為冬菇配雞肉就最正呀！

Panda Bread Making (Oct 28)

I initiated this very cute panda bread making class, and surprisingly a few BFF girls want to join me.

The class was taking place in Fotan and it took us 4 hours to finish the class. It's not easy at all, because we do not have any control over the baking part. So the panda head is tilted or the eye was dropped in the end. Carrie said her panda looked like a cow, that's so funny!!

But anyway, it's a really fun class and it just costs $180 per person.

Halloween Carving (Oct 20)

I had been looking for a good pumpkin in the market for a few times but failed. The ones sold in hong Kong are pretty small and not good for carving.
I decided to carve a yellow bell chilli instead. Frankly speaking, its much easier to handle.

I had put it on top of one of our monkeys. He is scared apparently.

Fab Macaroon Class in Feb

Oh I just realized that i did not put up the photos of macaroon class with my colleagues in my blog. That's truly memorable and should be in my diary.

As G loves macaroon so much, i thought of giving away a macaroon class to her as a birthday gift. She previously mentioned her interest in joining this, but yet she has not joined a class until then.

Despite of having attended the first class with BFF, I still wanted to do this again because i was attracted to the rilakkuma macaroons Flavors the cooking school has made. Apart from the Dubai team, part of the finance team wanted to join as well, so 6 of us had a fun night at Flavors.

I really enjoy making the macaroons because i treat this as an art class instead of cookery class. It's so satisfying to see all the bears come out in life. It's a tiring session but feeling good!

They have introduced this mat with circles, so this will guide us to make macaroons in similar sizes.

After a couple of hours, the bears are born! The decorative thing are chocolate in different colours.

Haha, with Rocky's help, i have made the world's smallest macaroon in bear shaped.

Ah Lun can't wait to eat all of them. I call it 天與地之人食熊

He ate them in a second, but he did not know that it took so long to prepare them....sobbing

Dec 2 - Bridal Shower for Donna & Birthday Celebration for Ah Yea

Donna is the chef in our group, the theme of bridal shower must be related to cooking!! Joyce Wong has arranged a macaroon making class for 9 of us at Flavors, and we had such a great time at the studio. The whole experience recalled our fond memories at cookery class in secondary school. Jokes keep flowing in and never stopped for a minute! Joyce Ip turned out to be the best student becoz she asked teacher to do all steps. ^^

Not sure if I had another chance of making macaroons, but it is a lovely experience.

Last but not least, we got a Donald Duck cake for Ah Yea at the shop. But she found this out by herself before the party starts. She is really 八卦！

My sister and ah Lun both had a sweet tooth, and they loved my macaroons even though I think they are too sweet.

Look at our aprons! The green apron worn by Ah Yea was the needlework class homework 1x years ago. We cannot imagine she still keeps her apron, with her name stitched on the border.

有苦自己知

搞了四小時的補湯，難飲到不行！如果是媽媽做的，肯定是找藉口不喝。如果是阿倫做的，我就可以開出十個條件先喝。今次自己做就知道辛苦，還是喝了下去。最後仲有反胃的感覺，就知道難飲的程度。難飲不是說苦呀，就是指什麼古怪的味道混在一起並且加熱，還未入口就先嗅到難聞的蒸氣。

Caramel Egg Pudding

It's been a while i have not made the caramel egg pudding, another favourite dessert of Tse's family. To make all the dish washing tasks more worthwhile, I have decided to make a bigger portion. i am multiplying the recipe by 4. As a result, i have made a full pot of egg pudding sauce and ending up with......8 small cups, 2 medium bowls, and 2 big pans of caramel egg pudding. By when will we finish them all? The next question is ... does my fridge have enough space to store them??

• Vanilla Essence
• Caramel Sauce - a great alternative to save time and effort. :)

Baking Day before Valentines' Day

阿倫愛吃，更愛甜品。

tiramisu 及焦糖雞蛋布丁都已經做過給他吃，我今次想試下蘋果批。

他每次去麥記都會吃蘋果批，而去starbucks就吃cinnamon roll. 所以有cinnamon 的蘋果批就應該很合他的胃口。

為了迎合不愛surprise的阿倫，我不得不說我的點子。我的確很為此很不爽！

anyway, 這個大龍鳳就在芥蘭的打擾下完成。

青蘋果6個只賣6元，因為每個都有少少爛，但我只用少許，所以完全沒有問題，還讓我感到超值的感覺，正。

蘋果加了糖，麵粉，cinnamon，非常簡單！

本來的idea是心形，可是city super所有的心形cookie cutter都售罄。

於是我選擇了我的至愛 --- 花花形狀。

一片混亂！

同樣，我的iphone一機都是粉。

太可愛了！比起一般的格子花紋，實在kawaii得多。

我愛做蘋果批，因為我好像在做手工一樣，得到的滿足感比做tiramisu及雞蛋布丁更大！

有沒有看到隨意的小花芯?

黃色的焗盤則是很久很久之前在台北的生活工房買的，現在才第一次用。

不好意思，又是第一次用。

先焗的一盤火候控制得不好，所以花花不美。
有了經驗之後，心形的一個就比較好看。

我終於忍不住買了聖誕節送給二家組的cookie letter press。

二家姐做的cookie太多牛油了，所以字體不明顯。

我決定今天也要完成這個烙有字母的cookies!

謝師奶昨天在美孚的Market Place買了獨立包裝的菜甫，非常方便我煮我喜愛的菜甫炒蛋。於是，今晚決定下廚。

可憐的阿倫很久也沒有吃過我煮的飯了！

海南雞飯

勁!無其他形容詞.....因為海南雞飯都比你整先!

我出差去新加坡好多次, 海南雞飯的醬料及特別的醬油碟已經買好哂, 但就一直沒有煮.

我好內疚又好感動呀!

不過......都係想繼續內疚下去 (講下笑咋!)

難怪佢咁得慼.......meiling忍下啦!

Reconnect with friends

It's a packed day, and this is a day for good friends. After the 2-week business trip, it's good to be home and reconnect with my friends. One of my old friends, Ah Yan, is coming back to HK for two weeks. We had a drink at the same Habitu Caffe at Elements, the same place where we met 1 or 2 years ago. We could not get the same seats, but we were pretty close! I enjoyed the specially made Earl Grey Tea with Passion Fruit Syrup.

Crab Kee is having a gathering tonight, and Donna is the only person who is absent. what a shame. We had both crab and hotpot for people on the cold side or the hot side. It's sad to know that Anton has to continue with the hotpot / crab / hotpot / crab cycle to get a good balance of cold/hot. I hope your body is coping with this harsh cycle.

We also had a belated birthday celebration for Flora.

30分鐘內完成的親子丼

喜愛親子丼的原因好簡單, 因為我愛的材料都在這碗飯裡面: 嫩滑的雞肉+半熟的雞蛋+冬菇+洋蔥
今晚第一次煮親子丼, 用了在日式百貨公司買的親子丼的汁料, 在30分鐘內完成, 醫飽了兩個肚! 但係......洗完碗及灶頭之後就已經一身散哂! 好彩今天已經是星期四. :)

好好味的Banana Milkshake

從前看過一篇報導, 說Jennifer Aniston 每朝早會弄banana milkshake給Brad Pitt飲, 就是因為Brad Pitt喜歡. 這篇報導一直都留在我的腦海因為阿倫都十分喜愛milkshake. 最近,他又經常在California Pizza Kitchen 叫milkshake, 所以我終於"的"起心肝去找banana milkshake 的食譜. 其實聽個名就知道易整, 但係都無諗過這麼簡單......

材料:
2隻香蕉
2球Vanilla Ice Cream (慷慨d會好味d.....)
1杯牛奶

很久之前在10蛟店買下的牛奶樽又成為了漂亮的裝飾! ^0^

Darlie 最後的晚餐之廚神告別宴

Darlie (an Indonesian domestic helper) will be leaving Kitty's family soon, so we had the last dinner prepared by Darlie tonight.
We felt so contented after having this "simple" home-cooked meal, including 10 dishes, chicken soup, fruit platter, ice-cream, Chinese tea and a 2-min massage by waitress Nim Nim. What a heavenly experience!!!
We will remember the taste of this FEAST forever. Darlie will be missed by this hungry gang.
In return for this wonderful dinner, we have to offer some help on Kitty's young daughters' home work - 中文作句. but obviously our help was not appreciated by their mom. These are some of our creations:
