Megan's 2nd Birthday (Part 2)

I have invited the BFFs to come over for a picnic to celebrate Megan's second birthday. We were blessed with the good weather, sunny and breezy. So lucky!!!

Though the weather was perfect on Oct 10, Megan kicked off the party with her stormy emotions.
Megan was throwing serious tantrums since one week before her second birthday. That's indeed very scary, especially i am an impatient mom. Like all the hurdles we have overcome, we are looking at ways to pass through this drastic change. Books, google, FB discussions...

She successfully got everyone's attention on that day as she was losing control, and this stubborn girl was really persistent. We ended up cooling her down by the water and let her lying on the floor and had a complete meltdown. Afterwards, a big hug after all the drama, and she was OK after that.
There's no reason behind the lengthy meltdown, but obviously this is a frustration for her because she knew a lot of words but could not express them in a way to communicate her needs with us.

In the second part of the picnic, it was good as she was back to normal. She kept eating the cakes, and she opened three of them, and we always tried to finish them for her because we did not want her to eat so many cakes.

In conclusion, a very tiring day, but it's good to see the other BFF kids and had some fun together. We were so lucky as BFF aunties sent us awesome gifts. I am sharing the books one by one with her, otherwise, she is too overwhelmed.

Sep 23 - belated birthday dinner with Betty

Nice Chinese restaurant behind Time Square. It's upstairs and no pressure to hand out the table at all. 

Aussie Friends gathering

We were once all marketing and PR specialists under Tourism Australia or its state tourism. We are efficient and responsive people that can fix a dinner including the venue within one half day. Cynthia said we are the most efficient group and that's very true. Sinead said if she's a boss she will hire us all. 

Sinead is coming over to Hong Kong for business trip. We are taking her to try award winning dishes. Never tried any Chinese fine dining in Hong Kong. Because of Shanon's relationship with the executive chef, we paid for a very reasonable price for this yummy and presentable dinner. 

The place is great for girls chat too. 

Appetizers

Mushroom soup. Yummy. Lots of flavors! 

Award winning dish - it's looks so pretty and the photo cannot reflect her beauty in certain extent. Most importantly, that yello mountain thing tastes so good

Old style salted chicken. 

Standard dish but delivered perfectly

This one is another award winning dish!! The garnish and the taste! It's the quality of championship. The pear is so tasty and I said three times. 

This is a very delicious yam bun. The other two are nice too. 

Each of us paid $622 in the end, so it must be discounted giving face to Shannon. 

Executive chef is so talented. As usual, I am very generous in praising his dishes. I hope my compliments made his hard work rewarding. 

Shannon will take us to have another great meal next time like 志雲飯局

有朋自遠方來

Visiting 私房菜 recommended by Joyce Wong. Actually she's Franco's sister. 

The seafood platter. I love seafood so much. The second thing I love most was the duck breast, extremely surprising for me as I don't like duck usually. 

BFF pool party

It's a challenge to come with a kid on your own. Ah Lun was required to work on that Sunday, so I have to bring Megan to join the pool party by myself. It's a new experience for me, as you have to pack a million things into the bag and carry a kid and a swimming ring at the same time. 

Megan needs to walk on shoes. Mommy fell down like Humpty Dumpty as she lost balance when she's putting on the shoes for Megan. 

This is the only picture we had. This captured all what happened in the next one hour. Megan, encountering separation anxiety these two weeks, was not letting me to leave her body an inch. 

In addition, she did not like the idea of swimming this summer. She was enjoying the swim last year very much. See the above photo for the transformation. 

After this group picture, Megan started to cry. 

What I can do is to dry her, change her, change myself and then feed her. Once she's having food, she's calmed immediately. She had a box of milk, cherries and some bread. 

Kate has been so great to accompany me all the time. Great to catch up with her on the taxi. 

By the way, it's a great party venue!! 5-star.

Ah Lun was off and he came to pick me up so we can get another group picture. 

BFF mommies meet-up

So ad-hoc, but I am glad to take Megan out to join Connie, Donna and Ah Yea. 

It's another playgroup for Megan, which is great socializing opp for her. She is enjoying the kitchen there, so much fun. 

We missed the food party!

We departed at 4:30pm so she had enough time to take dinner and medicine before bathing. It's such a big struggle to feed medicine. Luckily tin tin is good at this.

HTC 50th anniversary open day (March 20)

I cannot get any help from TinTin or Ah Lun on Sunday, so I had to take Megan with me to attend the 50th anniversary open day of my alma mater. Luckily, the MTR's exit with a lift is very close-by my school. 

It's great fun seeing all the teachers and classmates. What a great memory! 

We took the MTR to HTC. She picked rabbit to travel with her yesterday. 

Spent so much time at the art room. Missing the first wooden table I used to sit. 

Mrs Au. She called me Doris, OMG. 

She's really good in shape and did not age at all. 

Oh Annie Chan. Same look same style. Keep drawing the diagrams to teach the cloud formation. 

The welcome arch is so nice. 

When I worked for the open day at form 5, I used paper sculpture.

Another nice backdrop to take picture with my BFF. This is really an important date with my BFF friends. 

Meeting BFF

BFF meeting is the last CNY gathering this year. We have expanded so quickly, and it's crazy that we had so many people. 

Megan looked at the camera, cheated by me saying there are cats in that phone. 

Gambling game pleased adults and kids. They had a candy bank for kids. 

Poor Scarlett it must be very scary for you. So many people!!
