IKEA buffet

I have to do another home upgrade to create a play area for Megan. So we can set up a kid table and chair set in our tiny living room for her. 

Ah Lun suggested to find an affordable solution at IKEA. Comparing with a quote I have got from a nice shop, I have saved $15,000 from Ikea. 

After bathing Megan, we drove to Ikea ASAP. Their canteen is packed with people. Ah Lun always enjoyed eating a lot at IKEA. Our order was $240 in total but we had all the dishes on the menu except 3 items. We were sitting next to a young guy who's on diet having salad. Poor him, watching Ah Lun eat in bulk.

LOVE corner

When Ton Ton visited my place last time, a mega photo frame fell off and the glass shattered on the floor welcoming both of us. It was a massive clean up one or two months ago. 

We bought these LOVE letters from Homeless and I thought of putting them at the nursery. But I just worried if they will fall down one day and hit my baby. So I decided to relocate these art work. 

I put them here on this wall to fill up the hole today at the home entrance. Not sure if Ah Lun will agree with this. So in case he has another thought, they may need to be moved. 

Before he comes back home later tonight, let me upload this picture for record.

My tiny work station

I got back my tiny tiny work station. A working desk is so important and this is my little heaven for handicraft or work...

I m keeping things uncluttered at the moment. But I may add more decorative stuff in the near future. I will also need a light as this is quite dark in the morning and evening. 

Our study room / nursery room is 

halfway finished. So I can just show one side of room. Regarding the baby side, it's still a mess filled with boxes.... 

This big cabinet with two hidden work stations was my idea. I really love uncluttered life. So if the desks are messy, we can just close the doors. When I had this idea, I got lots of reference from Pinterest for the furniture company. And I am glad that the idea is feasible. 

FYI. The leather chair on the left was wrapped and sewed by Ah Lun. Quite a masterpiece. 

Ok. I can only show my cabinet here because Ah Lun's side is a bit messy in my standard. :) we have got the tailored space for our printer. Love it. 

Living in an organized life is a great feeling. 

Nursery Chair

First piece of furniture arrived today. 

My nursery room is so small that we could not get a one-seater sofa. So I have to source a compact and comfy chair. Got this from Ikea, quite economical too. Kailan is loving it!! She is just camera shy. :)

IKEA

Nesting in progress. We are looking for a comfy nursing chair with arm rest. In the past, Franc Franc had some attractive chairs in bold colours. But in the last two seasons, they did not have any great looking chair. 

I finally buy a $799 ikea padded chair. My nursery room is too small to fit in a one-seater sofa, so have to find a seat that's compact. 

We decided to make our second visit on on a week night to avoid the crowd. But the ikea cafe is still very very full. Ah Lun ordered almost everything on the menu but saying he is not full when he left. 

I mainly had the salmon, one veggie potato cake and chips. The rest were consumed by Mr Tse. 

Lucky Black Friday (Part 2)

Some of the new furniture moved in today. 

My flat was such a mess these days, because green advocate Ah Lun did not want to throw away any carton boxes or bags because of such home upgrade plan. 

So the delivery of furniture is long awaited, as I wanted to make my home back to normal ASAP. 

The designer actually created a draft that is blocking my window and did not utilize the space. Ah Lun just tweaked the design to get back our window and actually increasing our storage space more. That's now much much better. 

Now, the domestic helper can still wipe the windows in this design and sit on the bay window to chill out. Oh, we are just jealous that her bed has such a good view....

The nursery room furniture will be arriving next week. The desks' design was from me! Exciting! 

During the furniture delivery and set-up, I was away because boss invited me to join the Agency of the Year award again. 

This year, boss sponsored the make up and hair styling, how sweet he is!! This year we did not get gold, we get bronze. But we always say we are the most photogenic PR team in HK. We are also the only PR agency who has been the top three in 5 consecutive years. 

Hair-do in the office. The stylist is talented and she can make hair-do 80% similar to the reference photo. 

Alright, no heels for me means being short. Wanted to cry! My bump is starting to show even in this loose dress. 

We are C9s in the corporate team.

Only our boss will bring a DSLR camera to the event, and each one get a shot with the super heavy award. Boss will also cleared all photos in the mid night and shared with us. A congratulatory note will follow. That's my boss. 

Christmas makeover

Before the holidays, we bought some new furniture from IKEA. They were delivered on Dec 24 afternoon. So we were busy with our home furniture re-arrangement during this Christmas, in between our gatherings. 

We threw away two old desks and replaced with one slim desk. The change is small but the re-arrangement has helped to make my living room more spacious unintentionally. This will give us a bigger area for weight lifting and stretching.

It makes more sense to move the portable cabinet back to sofa area! 

It's a wise choice.

I moved everything before Ah Lun is back, I just love the idea of moving things around. I guess I picked this habit up from my mommy when I was young. 

Zara Home is opened in HK

I have got a few frames, small accessories and one blanket from Zara home Dubai. I made sure visiting the shop if I am in Dubai and this happened since 2008/2009. 

I was so thrilled to know the shop's opening in Hong Kong. Ah yea initiated the shopping tour, so here we go. 

The shop is really big, I m quite sure they will get good business here in HK. 

Anton bought a nice Christmas decor, and I bought a small cushion and a home fragrance with white jasmine scent. 

Some of the collections are too grand to me, but there are always some rugged and stylish homeware to fit my deco style. 

It's located just one level up of COS, so shopping in Gateway is getting more fun.

The white cushion is just sold at $99 (cover) + $59 (cushion). The fragrance bottle looks too pretty that I cannot resist. 

Sunday for cleaning and shopping

Feeling good when there's not any dog hair on the sofa and on the floor. I hope my cleaner can station with me 24 x 7. 

Uncle Sun is finally out after 2 weeks. Glad to see him again at the Harbour City Car Park. Today, I need to pay a visit to the newly opened Tst branch of Cos. 

Today's outfit: cos stripe tee, uniqlo shorts, loafers from Toast. 

Dyson rocks!

This is such a super brand! It has really great products. I did not buy their signature fan, but I have been looking at their handheld vacuum cleaner for sometime. 

It's summer time and Kailan shreds tonnes of hair. It's very annoying and I decided to buy the Dyson vacuum cleaner to keep my flat clean. I am such a lazy person becoz I will not assemble my old vacuum cleaner to clean a few hair. Thats so much work just taking the vacuum cleaner out....on the other hand, dyson design is so handy and powerful. Even Ah Lun is loving it!! 

I love my hair-free sofa! 

Flowers make me happy

Just $70, these flowers filled up three vases in my house. The greenish white flowers are so pretty and elegant!Ah Lun has such a good taste in flower shopping.

Decor by alphabets

Alphabets are commonly used in home decor in the west. I have been searching and searching and there's nothing good on the market. I got a source where they sell vintage alphabets, but thinking about the shipping fee from the US, I did not dare to order.
I bumped into the Cotton On flagship store today while I am off. And I am so happy to get those at $55 for 3pcs. What a bargain! They become one of my little treasures at my place now.

This marker for glass surface was bought during my Bangkok trip. I saved this for a few weeks for this random surprise.
Unfortunately, the marker was not very fine, and I don't like the effect...
But anyway, just finished the writing on a weekday morning in 15 mins. So I was running 15mins late further for work.

Halloween Carving (Oct 20)

I had been looking for a good pumpkin in the market for a few times but failed. The ones sold in hong Kong are pretty small and not good for carving.
I decided to carve a yellow bell chilli instead. Frankly speaking, its much easier to handle.

I had put it on top of one of our monkeys. He is scared apparently.

Green Home

We have 10 plants at home now, and this is the latest family member.
Ah Lun insisted to get this from Log-on as he was fascinated by the product description.
Now, the mother leaf has got many baby leaves popping out. It's quite amazing to see this interesting plant growing up at our home.
My eldest sister told me that she got this leaf a couple of times, but the mother leaf failed to grow at her place.
