According to Pui Yuet, baby loves sleeping on the adult bed. After Megan has been crying for so long for no particular reason, I put her on our bed and quickly she fell asleep.

New feeding system!

Pui yuet has left since Saturday, so we will need to establish another system. I was deprived of sleep seriously on the first day without Pui Yuet, but I have regained back my sleep after delegating some feedings to Tin Tin. 

Now I am responsible in the feedings mainly in the midnight and 3 am. 

After Tin Tin wakes up, she will look after 6am and 9am feedings. 

I will then take turns to feed baby at 12noon and followed by bathing her at 2pm. For the afternoon feeding at 3pm and 6pm, we will both take turns, subject to my milk expressing schedule. 

In the evening, Ah Lun would be eager to look after baby for bonding reason. If he needs to work, I will cover him in the evening as Tin Tin is off at around 9pm. 

I am so happy to wake up with lots of energy this morning!! Because I could sleep from 4am till 9am. That's truly wonderful. 

My ex-boss once said delegation is an art. It is so right. 

It's important to delegate work to people you trust, because you cannot finish all work by yourself. But I am also thankful to have TIn Tin who is a quick learner and loves taking caring of baby.

Last day

22/11 was the last day of Pui Yuet. 

On 23/11 (Sunday) I will be on my own to  experience the true life of being a mom without any help as Tin Tin will be off and Ah Lun will be working. 

At the time of blogging (6pm), it is proved to be quite challenging so far!! I miss my maid already. 

On pui yuet's last day, we went out to do a quick shopping at supermarket. Following this, we were sitting on the bench along the promenade for 20 minutes. This is already a heavenly experience for us. The view was so good and we enjoyed the sea breeze and the short quiet moments away from parenthood. Next time, we will bring Megan down to get some fresh air.

Megan is 6 weeks old and she starts to use her tongue to explore the world lately. 

Today, I captured the moment she's tasting her fingers!! I am trying to stop her. 

Megan is asking when will be the milk ready? While we are waiting for the milk, she shows different faces to entertain us.

Online shopping

Online shopping is my favorite activity when I cannot go out of home freely. 

There are so many baby product online shops, and I can even shop products that cannot be used immediately...

This is a product I have seen on a Japanese baby magazine a long time ago, but this brand is not available in HK or Taiwan.  This is not the Japanese version, as I ordered it from a US site. In fact, the brand is from Italy called Inglesina.

Its not something indecent but we find Megan's legs with cute white socks are so adorable. As you can see, Megan does not have chubby legs. All her fat goes to her chins, and she does not have any neck now!! 

人奶迷你倉

We have decided to buy a new fridge to store my expressed milk after we had difficulty in keeping them in good conditions with our current fridge. 

The current fridge was passed by my eldest sister may be 10 years ago when I was still living on my own in Quarry Bay. Fridge can really stay with you for a really long time. Before it was sent to me, it was also used for a while. 

Now, we got a much bigger Samsung one. It's so big that we have to remove the kitchen door to move it there. 

When I told tin tin that we are going to have a big fridge, Ah Lun told her that we could raise a penguin inside the new fridge. Tin Tin giggled. Ah Lun asked again with his usual funny look, "or do you want to have a polar bear?". We all laughed out loud.

I can have one full cabinet in the new freezer to store the expressed milk. So happy now. 

On a seperate note, my right breast is generating a lot more milk compared to left breast. And Ah Lun always joking that he feels shameful of my poor performance of my left breast in terms of milk supply. Today I thought he's helping me with the milk packaging, he actually wrote down this. That's hilarious. 

Need to write down date, time and amount of milk but Ah Lun filled in the last blank with something else. 

That's how it should look like normally.  By the way, these milk storage bags are quite expensive, given that I am using 5-6 bags per day. 

Melody Cake

I loved Melody when I was very young. I told Ah Lun about this one day, and he bought me the Melody cake from Maxim last night. When we cut the cake, no one did not want to kill melody because she's cute.

By the way, the cake was mainly made of  strawberry mousse with chocolate cake. Frankly speaking, it's not delicious but very pretty.

Sunday, a lazy yet busy day......

Well, this kid wanted to get my attention over baby Megan this morning. She jumped over my lap and hinted me to give her a hug. Let's snuggle on this lazy Sunday. 

When daddy's back around lunch time, Kailan wanted to get his attention too. She was sitting on my shoulder. How dare is she!! Totally no respect for me!! Luckily she did not fart, wee wee or poo poo. 

This happened all the time, dog and baby sleeping on/next to Ah Lun. Megan was so relaxed, and did not move at all. 

If you look in details, we had put her feet on Kailan's head. The dog was not moving too, because it's just so comfortable. 

I also passed the bathing challenge today without pui yuet. But I think it's such a long and tiring day for me, because I had not taken any rest.

Bathing Megan

Hohoho! I am so happy because I finally bathed Megan at ease today. After a couple of trials earlier this week, there are some transitions of positions I did not get them quite right. I requested to watch confinement lady to bath Megan once more yesterday, and I repeated the steps in my mind once again. Today, I finally made it. 

Tomorrow will be the real test because confinement lady will be on leave. 

Thanks Megan who loves bathing. Bathing a baby who does not cry is easier.

Sleeping Beauties: Kailan and Megan

Babies and dog just love sleeping! 

One is on her favourite pillow, the other one is on her stokke chair. Love this cute and peaceful moment and also we got some quiet time to enjoy watching TV. 

The new born set will soon be too small for Megan. Look at her long legs sticking out of the chair. By the way, she's actually not a big baby according to maternal and child care centre. Megan is only a baby with average size, quite surprising. 

Clever dog!

To play safe, we set up a gate to keep Kailan out of Megan's room. But Kailan is so smart that she learnt how to go in and out within a few days. 

We do not really completely lock the gate sometimes because we usually carry baby in and out with both hands occupied. If we need a complete lock, we have to lift the gate and push the button at the same time. Very troublesome. 

Due to the above reason, Kailan knows how to push the gate to come in. But when we scold her for coming in, she needs to escape quickly and therefore she learns how to go out. When we found out that she knew how to do it, we really laughed out loud. 

It's really funny to see her using her left paw to open the gate. It has now become a performance to entertain us.

Another morning, I found her sleeping on her own pillow, with her carpet ticked below her chin. Anyway, Kailan knows how to chill out with her limited resources...
