It's definitely a hard time to feed her at this age. Baby rice just all over her face! Glad that daddy is here to witness this moment and he took a few snaps for record too.

Milestone // first bite
Megan will be 6m next week. I am starting to give her baby rice this weekend so she can gradually taking other kinds of solid food when she reaches 6m. Kailan is focussing on the baby riceJust cannot imagine food can travel that far and it's so close to the eyes now!!
Lunch buffet (March 28)
Ah Lun has been so busy after CNY, and he was sick too. To cheer him up, I decided to have a lunch buffet on Saturday. Tine Tine was invited too though she had a small appetite. We had not many choices as we booked very late. In the end only Yamm accepted our booking.
We thought Megan will be sleeping at the restaurant as 12-2pm is her usual nap time. Unfortunately, she did not sleep because of her excitement. After some crying, megan slept for just 30mins.
Following the nap, she has to be fed. Very luckily, she still eat well despite sleeping badly.
Not a relaxing day but still a family day I treasure. By the way, we all ate too little making me feel that it's not value for money.
Starting from today, she learns how to tilt her head. She's so attracted by the pattern of our sofa.

First doctor visit
The virus has finally passed down to megan! Ah Lun is the person to be blamed. I caught his virus last Sunday and now baby caught it in 3-4days. 
We were so worried but luckily Tine Tine has been so helpful and she helped to monitor the situation. We decided to visit the doctor this morning together.
It's funny that we get three tickets from the reception for Tse family. We all went into the room and doc looked after us one by one. Very interesting experience.
That's Megan's first time visiting the doctor, she's quite excited.

Milestone // babbling
Baby Megan enjoys making sound as always but sometimes she looks like talking to you. When you respond to her, she says something again. We kept on talking to each other on Sunday morning. One funny part is she sounds like singing.
Sunday Tea Time (March 22)
It's been always hectic on Sunday without Tine Tine and Ah Lun. After feeding and playing with Megan since 7am, I did not have much energy especially I might have caught the virus passed along by Ah Lun. I managed to take a short nap while baby was taking the 2-hour lunch nap. 
After the long lunch nap, it's feeding again and we had to rush going out to meet grandpa and grandma!
Baby was very excited and we were sitting in the centre of the mall, there was too much stimulation which made baby getting tired very easily. Even though she's had enough rest before going out, she was yawning at around 4ish pm which is one hour earlier than her normal nap time.
I feel so bad that we came late and left early, hopefully this will change when baby is getting older and she desires less sleep in the daytime.

No more pacifier!
Yay! We succeeded in teaching megan to sleep without the pacifier less than 3 days. Using the controlled crying method, we have gradually made megan sleep on her own without sucking. 
If we need to roll out the plan, we need to make the room completely dark. As per Gina ford, baby can wake up and don't continue to sleep if they see some light. Our nursery room is so dark now that Ah Lun once tried to sit in the chair I was sitting because he could not see me there. LOL!
If we could turn our clock back, I still don't know if I would use pacifier to soothe my baby. When megan just came home from hospital, she's so insecure that she cried for two hours before settling to sleep. Recommended by pui yuet, we used the pacifier and megan could get to sleep easily. But things get worse especially since she could move on her own at around 3-4 months.
After her tummy pain at wee hours is getting better, we decided to train her not to rely on her pacifier anymore. Quite a big decision to make!!
We were prepared that she can cry up to two hours on the first night, as I heard from my boss and colleague. But Megan's dependence on dummy was not too heavy so she just cried for 20 mins on the first night.
On day 2, Tine Tine continued to follow my instructions and she did not need pacifier anymore and she just needed approximately 5-15 mins to settle into her nap. On day 2 evening, when I put her to sleep after the hot bath, she just slept in 8 mins.
From 20 mins to 8 mins, it's really not bad. According to Gina Ford, the habit can be broken in 3 days! It's just worked according to the plan. I cannot thank her more.
It's the 5th day Megan's quit sucking her pacifier. She's learning how to go back to sleep at 4am and 5:45am, but I don't need to put back the pacifier into her mouth anymore, I just monitor from the ip camera from my bedroom.
Just hope that her deep sleep can last longer after taking solids. Fingers crossed.

Taking megan and tine tine out to TST to get some fresh air today. Moving baby out of home is really difficult and time consuming. As Ah Lun is working, we were taking MTR which is not an efficient transportation when there's a stroller with you.

Megan realized recently she has feet and toes. This morning while I changed her diaper, she's chewing her toes in great efforts.

Daddy's idea!
You just cannot imagine why Ah Lun has such an idea of playing the mouse. The toy is now stuck into another mobile on Megan's high chair. The idea of hanging mousse is so funny. It made mommy laughing before entertaining megan. 
Scary and funny at the same time! Mommy LOL.
First Sunday after resuming work
Tine Tine is off today so she could take a good break from megan. I know how terrible to stick with a baby and locked in the house 24 x 6! A holiday will make her a better care taker.

On the other hand, it's a challenge for me because she's such a good feeder and she's fed Megan a lot in the last three days. She broke the record which was 5 bottles of 205ml......
Well, not sure baby was too full in the last few days, she took so little milk today making me very stressed.
Today, I have to take her out to get some fresh air because the weather had not been nice lately. We bumped into daddy who's heading home after work. What a coincidence.
I think she's getting bigger cheeks after having a daily milk intake of 900-1000ml for consecutive three days

Resuming work makes me a better mom before and after work. I enjoyed the quality time with my baby!
Due to the weather change, her ezcema has been more serious. A little play and diaper change before I left home.
It's also the fourth day following Gina ford's schedule, she has successfully increased milk intake during the day. Of course, patient Tine Tine is also the one to help facilitating this.

I dressed up nicely for work and I had my leather jacket on today. When I almost arrived the office this morning, I was searching for my phone in my jacket pockets. I laughed out loud when I found that I got a baby handkerchief in my left pocket!!

I cannot stop laughing when the waiter delivered the tea set to Ah Lun. It's super tiny for his appetite, and it's so small that he could swallow the udon in one go.

Milestone // rolling over on her own
On the day before her 5m birthday, she suddenly rolled over on her own without our assistance. She's picking up her clothes near her knees and then flipped herself. Tin tin and I were super excited to witness this. She's quite calmed after doing this, haha. 
Megan gave us a surprise on March 6th.
On the next two days, she did not do this again, and I am wondering if she has changed to other clothes which are more loosely fit. But she's practicing to move up her butt which may paved ways for crawling.

Milestone // no more swaddling
It was a painful experience to stop swaddling her. She kept rubbing her face and scalp which will intensify the eczema. On the other hand, she could not sleep without swaddling. Such a dilemma which annoyed us so much. 
Taking advices from friends like Donna and my boss, we have to stop swaddling her. I free her hands on 28 feb evening and it's a successful attempt though I woke up literally every hour in the mid night. She started to learn sleeping without the receiving blanket so her sleep was too shallow. Megan's situation was even worse because she has colic at around 3am.
Currently we still wrap her legs as her kicks kept her awake. After she's completely happy with her hands out, we will get rid of wrapping her legs.
We finally bought a toy to look after megan. This is a mouse. I asked Ah Lun, what's her name. He just got a perfect name in less than 5 seconds. She's called mousse, chocolate mousse. How funny! Like the whole idea of typo behind the toy's name. 
Woke up and playing with mousse and she dropped it over her face. So cute.
CNY 2015 - meeting with BFF
That's the first time for me to bring megan out this far on my own. I know it won't be a short meeting so I have to come with baby stroller in case megan is tired. On the other hand, baby stroller is only good when you have a car or your final destination is very close by the train station. 
Get ready! On my own to complete everything as Tin Tin is on leave and Ah Lun is working this Sunday

What an adventure for a new mom, especially when megan couldn't sleep well and eat well recently. She became very grumpy after she's out. It's because she's so excited about the surroundings which makes her so tired. Poor baby!
On the way back, I decided to take the train as I always like to train up myself handling baby on my own. It's interesting that I will need to find a new way of living because I was constantly looking for a lift. However it's always a much longer way to use the lift. We always hate to be slow, but I have no choice now. When megan is older with a strong body control ability, I will definitely use baby carrier more.
