Jiu Zhai + Chengdu (Nov 20 - 26)

It's been one month after our family trip to Jiu Zhai. We have received our group photos from Cici and Jeffrey last night. These photos have reminded us again the fun we had there. We laughed so much during the 6-day trip, the silly jokes just never ended. We do look forward to travelling together again in the future.

This is our tour guide, Xiu Song, who is the most helpful guide i have ever seen.

Surprise!!

I always enjoy surprises! Either i plan for it or i am part of the surprise!
When I knew that there is a surprise party for Carol, i confirmed my attendance right away. Just thinking about the idea is so much fun.
All of her friends arrived the venue (Pala / Lan Kwai Fong) on time on Dec 13 (Sun), and we were so excited to see her surprise look. To our surprise, she was quite calm and started very slowly to know that it is a party for her!
My attendance had made her day. A big thank you to Annie who took care of the venue coordination very last minute and Shelley who invited all her friends.

Shelley made an excuse and asked Carol to come along with her. :)

After some while, she realized that this is a surprise birthday party.

I like the candle! it's so lucky that we did not burn the restaurant.

Life is short

My colleague, Jo, passed away on Sunday morning due to a heart attack. All of a sudden, someone you bumped into the lift and chatted in the pantry or in the washroom disappear from your life.
Though she is not in our team, we sat together in the Christmas Party last Friday by fate. We were still learning how to play poker on Friday night together, and she almost won the table prize. It was so difficult to digest this news and no one is prepared to get hit by this sorrowful news. The office is so quiet today, because everyone's heart sank like a heavy stone.

There is a chance that we or our loved ones could pass away on any particular day, so you have to love your families and friends in a generous way, don't forget to show your love to them.

Time flies TWO fast. December 9, 2009 is our 2nd wedding anniversary. :)

Originally, i have a compesnation leave today, but i had to go back to the office for a new biz meeting. We finally met up at around 5pm and we decided to go to Stanley.

As you may know Ah Lun well, he has a super big appetite, so i recommend going to have German cuisine. What a meaty dinner.

Something New!

We had just completed Ah Yea's mission of having a "something new" birthday celebration! We decided to celebrate her birthday along the harbour so that we could enjoy the East Asian Games 2009 Firework.

After a few rounds of research, it is confirmed that all possible venues in TST are fully booked. Many Chinese restaurants have banquets on that day, while the remaining options are not attractive at all.

Finally, we have booked Discovery Forest at Pier 3 in Central. The food and the setting there was very lousy, but it is really a good place to see the firework. As usual, our gathering (9 girls in total) is very noisy!! We fitted into the "grass-root" environment, and we had a good time there.

Ah Yea decided to treat us with Moon Kee Desserts in IFC, and she was broke after Joyce Ip ordered the costly bird's nest in cocunut milk + mango sweet dumpling! The bill was HKD460 for 10 gals, and it was actually much cheaper if Ah Yea paid for her own dinner and birthday cake. hahahhaha! I enjoy the laugh sooooo much tonight!

P.S. We found out that Anton has some really serious illusions plus she is deaf! wakakkakak!

Panda Fever!

I am thrilled to get a chance to see some cute pandas in China lately. Our family trip included a visit to the panda camp on the way to Jiu Zhai, how wonderful is it!!! The panda babies there were just so cute and stupid-looking, and i wanted to bring them home.

i was so excited with my first visit to the panda camp, so i brought over my panda hat with me all the way from Hong Kong. I only realized that there were so many panda products in Chengdu, and they were in good quality and extremely cheap!! Finally, Ah Lun got me a pair of panda ear muff. Frankly speaking, they did not make me warm. But having two pandas on my ears just warmed my heart. :)

Reconnect with friends

It's a packed day, and this is a day for good friends. After the 2-week business trip, it's good to be home and reconnect with my friends. One of my old friends, Ah Yan, is coming back to HK for two weeks. We had a drink at the same Habitu Caffe at Elements, the same place where we met 1 or 2 years ago. We could not get the same seats, but we were pretty close! I enjoyed the specially made Earl Grey Tea with Passion Fruit Syrup.

Crab Kee is having a gathering tonight, and Donna is the only person who is absent. what a shame. We had both crab and hotpot for people on the cold side or the hot side. It's sad to know that Anton has to continue with the hotpot / crab / hotpot / crab cycle to get a good balance of cold/hot. I hope your body is coping with this harsh cycle.

We also had a belated birthday celebration for Flora.
