I have got an Olympus camera at home, Ah Lun discovered that we still have undeveloped films inside. He decided to send the films to the photo printing shop to discover our past!

If the date marking is correct, the photos were taken in 2007. It's been ages!!!

2011 Business Trip #2 - Dubai Roadshow (Manila)

It's my first time to arrange a morning call at 2:45am, and it took us 12 hours to land Shangri-la Makati Hotel at 2:45pm. It was because we are trying to avoid flying on Garuda Airline or Philippines Airline due to cleanliness and safety.

Due to the insufficient sleep, i had serious headache! Panadol is always my best friend during the business trip. The pills have saved me.

All the Dubai delegates were so happy with our arrangement and liked my presentation, this is the best reward for all the hard work and preparation since Dec 2010. I really like Katja's compliment, "Your presentation is one of the best i have ever seen in all the DTCM roadshows. The China Roadshow is good but it's not close to the standard you have achieved." Katja is so sweet!

If we were staying in MO throughout all the stops, i am sure we could make a almost-perfect Far East Roadshow. We will surely delete Shangri-la from the hotel consideration list for the next show. I always think am i too demanding, but it's really frustrating to ask for an elegant glass bowl for name cards for 6 times.

The room was relatively old...we don't like it. But this is already the best hotel in Manila.

2011 Business Trip #2 - Dubai Roadshow (Jakarta)

We departed Shangri-la KL at 10:30am on Tuesday (Apr 5), and we landed in Jakarta at the evening peak hours, therefore we were stuck at the infamous Indonesia's traffic jam. Everyone was almost sleeping while i was enjoying the sunset.

Luckily, we were impressed by the Mandarin Oriental Jakarta after the airport transfers. Nice and spacious room and extremely good and efficient services. I have taken a short video of my room, which is just a standard room. Cannot imagine the size of the suite...

We celebrated for completing two events at the Magnum Cake we have discovered in Grand Indonesia shopping mall. We had been waiting there for more than 30 minutes for the lovely ice creams.

2011 Business Trip #2 - Dubai Roadshow (KLIA)

After confirming that we are still going to visit Jakarta despite the earthquake in central Java, we started our journey on Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, we were informed that the flight will be delayed for one hour, so we killed time at the Cadbury's shop and Harrod's Cafe.

The Barney's suitcase was hilarious, and i decided to take a photo of it. I hope i was dressed up with my business suit to match this silly suitcase. Don't think it's cheap, it's quite costly.

We have ordered the scone set, it's so cheap. What a nice place to kill time in a stylish way.

Dubai Roadshow was finally over today. What a stressful week. I had not breathed any fresh air since checking in yesterday. I don't mind taking fresh air in Hong Kong tonight. Cannot wait to board CX at 1950. I miss Lun Lun and Lan Lan so much!! I miss the efficiency of Hong Kong, please bring me home.

2011 Business Trip #2 - Dubai Roadshow (Kuala Lumpur)

It is hard to forget this roadshow because it started with a crisis once we have landed. A colleague of mine who is responsible for the shipment of the brochures have accidentally sent the wrong boxes to the venue. We have specifically prepared 600 nicely printed event programmes for the one-week roadshow, but we do not have the programme booklet on the first stop. I simply got a heart attack last evening.

My EQ was so good that i managed to make a very good lie to my client, while i did not scold my colleague. She almost cried in front of me because she knows this is such a BIG mistake. I know this is also a test for me.

Even though we had organized the roadshow in KL for so many times (2003, 2007, 2009 & 2011), the pace of the people working there do not change a bit at all - SLOW. It's really hard to move someone or something from one place to another. It took us 1 hour to wait for the boxes to be delivered to the exact location we want. That's frustrating even though I have a very low expectation and many unahppy experiences in the past. It's just really a waste of time, and i hate it.

Alright, when we have found a solution for the crisis, another bad news hit me - earthquake in central Java. There was so little information this morning, so everyone was panicking. I have to ask around for news, contact the hotel in Jakarta for update and alert my client while i am about to start my KL event opening speech. The stress is enormous today and i had never felt so tired after event. Thanks god the last two days are over!

Staying at Shangri-la Hotel KL with a view of the Twin Towers. I love the free wifi at the club floor so i am connected with family and friends. Wonderful.

first night dinner at room after handling the crisis. I always like caesar salad. Before we are heading to Jakarta tomorrow, we had a local dinner at Twins Towers - Little Panange Kafe. It's OK, but not excellent. Afterall, Malaysian food are not too interesting.

Happy 45th Birthday to Alma Mater, HTC

It is so much fun today, because HTC is having 45th anniversary open day. Most of us came back to see our old school and our teachers! Lots of surprises!! Some grows older than she should be, and someone gets fitter than we expected.

We also see 暑記at the school hall, it's fun to see them all.

We grow up here, and our friendship develops here!

The flowers hanging outside the campus are still very beautiful. I did not appreciate them when i was small, but i think they made my alma mater much prettier now.
