Dating night!

There's a new Taiwanese beef noodle shop newly opened in Maritime Square. It recalls our great memories in Kaohsiung because the soup is as great as the one we visited in Taiwan. 

We ordered so much food and the man sitting next to Ah Lun really whispered "wa" when the waiter kept delivering food to our tiny table last night. That's only the second last dish they deliver. 

We did get strange looks from other eaters in the past, but this one is epic. 

Tantrums & Teething

Megan started to learn things quickly, but as the books said tantrums will be building up. She was upset especially when she was teething these two weeks. 

Suddenly she's not interested in bathing and we had nothing to do about it. Toddler's mindset is so difficult to read. Just hoping this stage will pass one day. 

She's getting bored more easily, but I think the teething is making her grumpy these days. 

Hopefully, her 7th and 8th teeth are popping up faster and shortening her pain.

When she's grumpy, we distract her with new stuff. Then she's calmed and happy again. 

Self-feeding

Home Upgrade - Living Room

I wanted to make a tailor-made cabinet with built-in table, the quote is HKD 24000. I told Ah Lun that I will go for it, and he said we should not do this because we can save some costs if we go for IKEA.

Then I went to Ikea to look for inspirations. In the end, we found a very light and smaller foldable table, to be stored into a massive cabinet. 

It's a mess everywhere. The challenge was how to keep the noise level low as baby's sleeping in her room. 

We did not cover the window so we can still have some strong breezes if we opened the windows from the opposite side.

The finished look is awesome! We spare a large area for Megan to play and walk though our place is small. 

Inspirations and contributions from Ah Lun was much appreciated. He also got two chances to have IKEA buffet when we purchased the cabinets and stuff. 

Sunday (Nov 22)

Tin Tin worked last Sunday, it's hard for me to pick up the Sunday mommy duties again this week. But I think she really needs this break as she's lazy in cleaning after working for two weeks non-stop. 

Breakfast milk! She drank 170ml for the first time. Feeling great sense of achievement (for me)!

Filled with pillows and cushions! This did not keep her excited for long. But it took me some effort to set this up!

I was waking up earlier to look after Megan, but Ah Lun was helping to clean all dishes accumulated from dawn till lunch, before getting out for work. He was rushing home again for bath time at 5pm and cook me dinner. He's trying all his best to help, even he needs to work. Thanks so much, without his help I may become a depressed mom.

After she's back, she had an even better appetite, she finished 240ml and a large dinner. She's feeding herself less messier today. Feeling proud of you! 

Milestone // Feeding herself

Wow. This has made my day really!! 

We really did not expect her to manage feeding herself the whole meal so early. Normally toddler feed themselves between 15-18m. Megan is now just 13m1w. 

May be due to the rice texture last night, she easily managed to use her spoon to feed herself. There's a chance that she forgets how to do it the next day though, haha. When we told Ah Lun after he's back, he's not believing it until we showed him the videos. 

Tin Tin was amazed by the love of food by Megan as his son did not like eating.

Sunday (Nov 15)

As I will need to go with family to worship my Grandma on this Sunday morning, I felt I have missed out time to play with Megan, thus, I took her out for an early morning park visit. 

We greeted everyone on the street, she tried practicing hello and bye bye. 

We were so early. It's around 8:30am, there's one older baby with grandpa there. 

She kept walking for a long time. Leading me to where she wanted to be. 

Looking up to look for reassurance. This is so trivial but I find the mother daughter time precious. 

She loves chasing pigeons. There was one in the bush. 

This is the face of enjoying her first swing experience. 

Dim sum after nap. She's very excited and no longer crying when she sees grandma and grandpa. That has proven it's all about seperation anxiety, and its not about seeing enough people or not. 

Megan and her grandma, I think they look quite alike.

Baby, can I take a break? The weather was really good yesterday. But I was sweating because I was carrying a 10kg kid and a backpack with all her necessities. Wish Ah Lun was present this weekend. He was just too busy with the Porsche party and Henessy Party over the weekend. :( I totally understand and I m sure Ah Lun wanted to be there too. We all hate busy Q4. 

That's second hair cut in the salon. She's sitting on my lap instead of the kids seat in the shape of a car. 

Another long day for me and Megan. She fast asleep at 7:15pm. 

Saturday (Nov 14)

After the trial lesson two weeks ago, I think Megan is really enjoying seeing other babies. So we started playgroup from this weekend. 

As usual, we came early to get warmed up. This week, she's into the pool filled with different sizes of balls.

During the class, she was super high. She loves music so much and paid great attention to the teacher! 

In the second part of the class, it's messy play and sensory play. This week, we played with sand. In this section, they were always given spoon I realize. I think the programme aims to train up using the spoon. Megan played with the spoon and tasted some sands haha. Teacher said these are edible sand from Canada, so I was relieved. 

After some hard core playing, she took a cat nap on the way back. It's such a great adventure for Megan. 

Mom is super tired too, because I was the one who runs and dances with her. 

Fresh Milk

After Megan is one year old, I am struggling if I should continue feeding her formula milk. After some researches, it is proved that formula milk is a trap set up by the merchants and formula milk is too sweet for babies. 

After convincing Ah Lun, we are making a switch immediately for Megan. 

At first, we add mashed banana into the milk to encourage her drinking from the straw cup. She successfully drinks 100-120ml in her breakfast time. 

After two weeks, we have cut the banana  and she still drinks the milk. Well done. 

For the 5pm milk feed, it's 240ml. Hopefully she can completely switch it to straw cup even for this milk feed.
