2009 Business Trip #2 - Manila (Day 1)

I am surprised that Manila is just 2-ish hours away! This is my first time to visit Manila, Philippines. The airport is very 80's, and it is actually something very similar to our old Kai Tak Airport.

We stayed in the best hotel (i think) in the CBD of Manila, and it is located very close to the so-called shopping malls, like the English version of 友誼商店.

I went to the grocery store in "The Landmark" to buy the Mango-products. Let's become a Mango-holic this week!

The 7D dried mangoes are not cheap, so i did not buy many!

They are sold at Php111, which is equvilent to hkd20.

Concert 的價錢其實可以買到6隻CD, 但Live Band的演奏真的值回票價, 大家也好欣賞Live Band各人每粒音的演出, 我最愛的是吹flute 及 saxophone的女仔Hitomi San.

最後亦要讚吓自己, 訂票訂得怏, 個位非常清楚, 仲好過地下第一行呢! Good Job, Meiling!

Grandma has passed away

We have been able to see her on Saturday night. I think she feels completed after seeing Carson last night, and she passed away this early morning.
It's been a very difficult period for Dad especially.
Grandma always secretly bought me chips and Yakult when she picked me up from Kindergarten, and i was addicted to chips thereafter.
She would not suffer from the pain anymore, and may peace is with her.

Springtime

Spring has arrived for a couple of weeks already as you can feel the moisture in the air. Though people and cameras may not like the humidity, but my plants are all very happy for the arrival of spring. They are just beautiful!

2009 Business Trip #1 - Singapore (Day 3)

I have had enough shopping so i decided to take a walk along the Singapore River. My starting point was Clarke Quay and i finished my walk at Esplanade because i could not stand the heat anymore...

2009 Business Trip #1 - Singapore (Day 2)

Today, more than 130 pax showed up at the commerce seminar, and the delegates from Dubai were all very happy with the turn out in times of economic crisis. As long as they are happy, i am happy too!
I always feel good after completing a presentation, and tonight i got a companion as well. My colleague, Carol, was having her holiday in Singapore, and tonight we went to have Black Pepper Crab @ Long Beach, Kaya Toast @ Ya Kun and Drinks @ Chijmes.
The crab turned out very huge in the end. As per advice by the waitress, we ordered a female crab because it is easier to handle her shell. We were told that the male ones have harder shell. I normally do not like crabs because it takes too much effort to finish a crab, but i think it's worthwhile to make so much effort for Black Pepper Crab.
Since Carol has not tasted Kaya Toast, so i brought her to Ya Kun. She likes the toast and milk tea a lot, and she even bought a bottle of Kaya Paste. I did not buy it because i knew the paste will get expired before i open the bottle. ha ha.

2009 Business Trip #01 - Singapore (Day 1)

After having 2 months staying in HK, I have to pick up business travel again. The first stop is Singapore.
I have not taken any shot on any flights since i have got my D90, so I have taken a number of pictures from my seat 30A this time. The flight is not very full, so i occupy both window and aisle seats which is great! The weather on ground is not good at all, but the sky is soooooo blue high above. Isn't it amazing?! I really like the blue sky on a sunny day.

I have been to my favourite store GAP again after my meeting, and I had a laksa and my favourite Milo Dinosaur @ Toast Box to complete my first day in Singapore.

Have to start preparing my presentation for tomorrow now!!
