Prison Break

Finally my confinement month has officially passed. My BFFs are meeting up to celebrate my "prison-break" and to farewell Joanne before she's travelling back to Seoul. 

Meeting Max after Ah Yea's wedding, that's one year ago. Max has grown up a lot and he's active as usual. He was originally sitting next to me. All of a sudden he found my comfy lap to sit on. Its funny to answer his Korean questions in English or Cantonese. 

Salute to Connie who holds two kids at one time. It's sweet (& tough).

Gathering with kids cannot last long, so we just met up for two hours. And I also need to go back home to pump my milk. 

It's great to break the prison and got welcomed by BFFs. 

Day 31

Today marks the 1 month birthday for Megan. It's a busy day for her. First of all, she went to maternal and child health centre for vaccine injection. 

By the time she got the shot, she was in deep sleep. Poor Megan, she cried hysterically when she got the injection. It's very heartbreaking to see her cry. Luckily, she did not cry for long. To Megan, it may be just a nightmare...

Ah Lun has been busy lately. it's good that I get help from confinement lady for the clinic visit. It's always a time consuming visit, we spent the whole morning there!! Luckily Megan just slept all the way and did not cry because of hunger. 

Every day, we spend quality time with Kailan. 

Kailan, you are not forgotten. Do you know we love u! 

Ah Lun looked after the 8:30pm feeding. Kailan jumped up to the sofa and sat next to the baby. Such a beautiful moment to remember. Love it! 

The full family was discussing how to burp Megan. Even Kailan wanted to join the meeting. How funny. In fact, we had a great time with Tin Tin every evening. Ah Lun's humour not affected by language.  He's joking with me and Tin Tin if he's around, even in English. I am truly thankful to him giving me a joke-filled pregnancy and confinement month. 

Megan did not wake up for cake-cutting. Haha! 

Anyway, we had a family picture on this special day. It's so chaotic, with Kailan who wanted to run away, and baby with an annoyed look. 

This is the story of Megan in her first month after birth. I hope Megan would enjoy reading these blog posts one day when she's grown up. I am trying my best as a mom to share these great memories with her. 

After today, Megan and me will be allowed to go out of home. She will start an amazing life from now on. XOXO!! 

Day 30

Megan knows how to pose!! She always made us laugh while we are holding her. In the midnight, if she gave me a funny face, I would really giggle in the dark. 

Ah Lun also found time today to transfer the photos taken from DSLR to our smart phones, so I can upload them onto FB. Its difficult to get an external photographer to take a shoot of us anymore. Afterall, only both of us know what's pretty in our terms. It just took us 20-30 mins to take a few shots, but we are happy with the results. All were taken in our tiny nursery room. 

Day 29

Weather is getting colder these days, so we are dressing Megan like Q太郎, wrapping up her hands and feet. 

Daddy is finally off today so here's the precious father and daughter interaction. 

We are also going out quickly (AGAIN) to buy a birthday cake for Megan. She will be celebrating her 1 month birthday on Nov 7. Yay!! 

Day 28

It's already Day 28, time flies too quickly. 

Milk supply is getting more and more steady. And baby is eating 7-8 meals a day now, all breast milk. My life is now scheduled according the feeding timetable. I cannot afford to waste a minute at all.

Papa is back and he is looking after baby Megan. Kailan is tired and has not moved  at all. In fact, Kailan is keeping a distance to baby. May be she is scared of baby because it does not look like a dog or a real person. 

Day 27

It's Sunday! Looking after two babies in one time. I am so tired after the mid night feedings.

Ah Lun is back for a short while to help during lunch, in between his work schedule. 

Well... He came up the second nick name for Megan today. She's called "剩廿ml" because she always drinks up the milk leaving 20ml untouched. 

Kailan did not dare to lick or sniff the baby, and she is just staying next to Megan. We are still figuring out what Kailan thinks. 

Kailan stays next to me and Megan sometimes. But once Ah Lun picked out the iPhone, Kailan ran away! 

When Ah Lun is working and I am terribly tired, this is how I save my energy by lounging in the sofa. Kailan is also lounging on my legs too. 

Day 26

BFF was coming today. It took me a lot of efforts to make the arrangements, eg feeding, baby bath, milk pumping, and my afternoon nap...

I felt great when I really made it. It's nice meeting my friends again during this boring month!

After they have left, I am taking a selfie again. You know I usually dressed in pj and there's no photo with Megan.

I felt so tired after BFF visit and looking after almost all feedings of baby. The last one was handled by Ah Lun. I found this picture of burping our baby exceptionally cute because of the contrast between a tiny body and a big hand. 

Day 25

Megan has so many facial expressions. That made our day a little bit more interesting.

Kailan just get too tired every night after looking after so many people in the house. She's not moving! 

Day 24

No one is taking picture of me and Megan because Ah Lun and I usually take turns to look after baby. Even if we have time, I dress terribly at home so I refused to be shot. 

Here comes a selfie of me and baby. Hopefully, after the first month, we can go out to take some pictures.

Everyday, I think Megan looks a bit different. 

Day 23

After breaking a glass milk bottle the other day without saying sorry, Jenny told me that she broke the glass cover of my wok on Monday, the day we went out to arrange birth certificate. 

I was so upset because she is not a honest person, and blamed Tin Tin for doing this. She is asking Tin Tin not to tell us as well. 

In the evening, we brought this subject to Tin Tin and she burst into tears because she felt she's wrong too. We calmed her down and felt glad that she got a pure heart. 

Baby Megan is sleeping and eating well. Though the weather is getting much cooler, we still have to have air conditioning for Megan because she's a hot baby and the neighbourhood is a bit dusty.
