2009 Business Trip #6 - Hong Kong (Day 11)

ho ho ho......I am finally home today.
We got up so early to catch the flight, and we have seen the sunrise on the way to KL airport.
I am pretty sure to say that this is unlucky day for our group because we were delayed in the group transfers in the early morning, and could not waive our excess baggage from CX (+50 kgs though), and one of the Dubai delegates got his luaggage sent to Dubai (instead to HK), so he spent most of his time settling his baggage issue at the HK airport.
Last but not least, I almost got heart attack when i was informed by my colleague that some guests received our computer-generated reminder which stated the wrong event date. Luckily, we found out from service provider that there were only 5 people got the wrong email message, and remedies could be made within half an hour.

Phew~ What a stressful day. Tomorrow will be a brand new start, I believe!

Hopefully there will be very little no-show, and the event will run smoothly and it puts a perfect full stop to the Dubai Roadshow. :)

2009 Business Trip #6 - Kuala Lumpur (Day 9 -10)

It's hard to believe today is the 10th day already.
We finally left Singapore after 9 days, so this is a great move as we finally moved away from Sheraton Singapore which is not providing good services to my surprise.
We are here at Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur.
Hurray, I am going back to HK tomorrow. Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I hope the clock can tic faster today.

2009 Business Trip #6 - Singapore (Day 4-5)

Time really flies, today is already the 5th day i am staying here.
We have almost finished all local food we should try (Chicken rice, laksa, popiah, prawn noodles & fish ball noodles), of course we will not forget to eat different types of crabs.
According to Singapore Tourism Board, Chilli Crab is an unofficial national dish of Singapore. How can we miss this out in our 9-day trip?
Apart from Chilli Crab, we also had black pepper crab and creamy crab in the past 5 days. Normally, I do not eat crab in Hong Kong because i feel tired of taking off the shells. i can say the crabs i have consumed these days exceed my quota for the whole year. 2009 Business Trip #6 - Singapore (Day 1-3)

When I was filling in the immigration form of Singapore on the plane, i was asked how many days i am going to stay here. I counted the dates once, and i cannot believe myself so i made another count by heart. What scared me is I am going to stay here for NINE days before i go to KL and HK!!! OMG!
What we can do here in the Lion City is to eat crabs, chicken rice and laksa, and we will take another round of these three dishes again and again throughout the stay.
Today is the official third day of my stay in Singapore, and we have finished trying the black pepper crab and creamy crab at the restaurant under the Singapore Flyer. We also had the chicken rice by Chatter Box. They are good as expected, but i am eager for something new but yummy.
I had lunch with my airline partners today at Food Republic just downstairs from the exhibtion hall. The noodles are smaller in size in Singapore, and they suggested to have desserts and coffee. They decided to take me to have the most delicious APPLE CRUMBLE in Singapore.
The apple crumble was heated up, so the crust's crunchy again. The pie is not too sweet, apples are soft yet juicy, combining the raisins and cinnamons, this is just a perfect dessert to put a full stop to my lunch.
For your info, this is from Spinelli, costs only S$3.7. The size is big, and great to share with another girl. :)

Idiot Kailan

Before I set off for the 2-week trip, we had a fun time briefly with Kailan. On the contrary, she may not think this way, because she looked super stupid in front of the camera.
For those who loves Kailan like us, don't misunderstand our game. We were very gentle to her, but we just enjoy making her look stupid.
I keep watching this again and again to kill time in Singapore.

Final Inspection

Some of you may know i have become a home owner lately. The transaction date will be on 20 October, Tuesday. Before that, we are required to do the final check of the flat with the property agent and the landlord, and this was arranged on Sunday 18 October.
We had briefly taken down the measurements of the rooms, and we were amazed how small the rooms were, although we have a 3-bedroom flat.
Our flat is in Block 1, and all of the windows can take a glimpse of the Tsing Yi South Bridge, I decided that i will take 5 minute look at the sea view every day so i will feel more happy with price.
I will be on business trip starting from Monday, and Ah Lun will take over the home project matters while i am away. I really hope Kailan has a part to play. I am still scratching my head where we should put Kailan in our new home.
Below please find a snap shot of our study room. It was taken at 12 noon, i really like the cool breeze from the South Eastern shore and the bright sunlight drawn into the flat.

Faith the Dog

Got this from my colleague today, and i am so touched by the story and would like to share it here.

FAITH
This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. He was born with 2 legs - He of course could not walk when he was born. Even his mother did not want him.
His first owner also did not think that he could survive and he was thinking of 'putting him to sleep'. But then, his present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met him and wanted to take care of him. She became determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by himself... She named him 'Faith'. In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfboard to let him feel the movement. Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for him for standing up and jumping around. Even the other dog at home encouraged him to walk. Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle, Faith learned to balance on his hind legs and to jump to move forward. After further training in the snow, he could now walk like a human being.
Faith loves to walk around now. No matter where he goes, he attracts people to him. He is fast becoming famous on the international scene and has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows. There is now a book entitled 'With a Little Faith' being published about him. He was even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter movies.
His present owner Jude Stringfellew has given up her teaching post and plans to take him around the world to preach that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect soul'.
In life there are always undesirable things, so in order to feel better you just need to look at life from another direction. I hope this message will bring fresh new ways of thinking to everyone and that everyone will appreciate and be thankful for each beautiful day. Faith is the continual demonstration of the strength and wonder of life.

Positive vs Negative

Continuous positive thinking will turn into negative in one day, and that is…… today.
When you hear the message so clearly for a number of times, you cannot keep the same positive mind.
Disappointment just overwhelmed me utterly this morning.
